Organizations may participate in one or more areas of the GBV Strategy. Different representatives from the same organization may participate based on their roles, expertise and areas of work.
The Leadership Table brings together Executive Directors (or equivalent) from organizations helping to lead the movement to end gender-based violence in Waterloo Region. Members work collectively to identify community priorities, strengthen collaboration, support advocacy and advance systemic change.
The Service Coordinating Committees bring together frontline professionals working directly in domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking to strengthen coordination, share knowledge, identify service gaps and improve connections across the community.
The Gender-Based Violence Public Education Network brings together professionals directly involved in public education, awareness and prevention work related to gender-based violence. Members share expertise, resources and information, identify opportunities for collaboration, and work together to strengthen and coordinate gender-based violence education across Waterloo Region.
The GBV Strategy is committed to intentionally seeking partnerships and strengthening representation from equity-deserving groups and communities. We recognize the importance of diverse perspectives, lived and living experience, and community expertise in preventing and addressing gender-based violence.
