The Domestic Violence Service Coordination Committee (formerly Domestic Assault Review Team or DART), founded in 1999, is a community coordinating committee. Its primary purpose is to facilitate a coordinated, seamless, and effective approach to preventing and responding to domestic violence within the community of Waterloo Region. It has approximately 20 member agencies.
DVSCC is part of a broader community strategy for ending gender-based violence in Waterloo Region. Its focus includes:
Improving service coordination
Developing protocols and referral paths
Identifying gaps
Program updates
Sharing professional development and training opportunities
Amplifying and promoting member’s programs and services
Providing support
Anonymous case review
Networking
DVSCC membership is limited to those individuals and agencies charged with directly responding to the issue of domestic violence.
